KTM Care Pathways

Social Care Support Outside of School Hours

Safe, Trusting Relationships & Responsive Care Beyond the School Day

At KTM Care, we recognise that for children and young people with autism and complex needs, wellbeing is rooted in safe, trusting relationships, consistent communication and responsive support. Our evening, weekend and holiday provision extends these principles beyond the school day, providing continuity, emotional security and predictable care.

Tailored & Person-Centred Provision

Our out-of-hours support is highly individualised and aligned with each young person’s EHCP (if applicable) and Care Plan, which is designed in partnership with families and the professionals who know the child best.

“These sessions are designed to be enjoyable, engaging and meaningful, giving children and young people opportunities to relax and explore their interests while providing families with valuable, reassuring respite.”

What We Provide

Structured EveningConsistent support with key parts of the evening such as activities, meals and personal care. These routines are carefully sequenced and supported using visual or personalised systems to reduce anxiety and support calm, regulated transitions.

Interest-Led Activities & Skill Building
Activities are planned around the child’s interests, sensory profile and developmental needs rather than generic provision. Discussed with families before support commences, this creates opportunities to build confidence, independence and life skills in a safe and supported way.

Matched Staffing Ratios & Relational Consistency
Staffing ratios are carefully matched to each young person’s level of need, ensuring safety while allowing for relational consistency. This enables staff to respond proactively, build deep trust and provide effective support during periods of dysregulation.

Co-Regulation & Emotional Well-Being
Staff work alongside children to support emotional regulation, particularly during times of stress, uncertainty, or transition. The focus is always on reducing distress through calm, attuned responses rather than increasing demands.

Communication & Behaviour Approaches
All staff follow agreed approaches to communication and behaviour, ensuring total continuity across home, community and educational settings. This consistency helps children feel understood, reduces anxiety and supports positive outcomes over time.

Meaningful Engagement & Reassuring Family Respite
Sessions give young people opportunities to relax, explore their interests and feel safe and supported. At the same time, they provide families with valuable respite allowing parents and carers to rest, manage household tasks, or take time for themselves with complete confidence.

Working in Partnership

We work closely with families and professionals to ensure that approaches to behaviour, communication and relationships are consistent across all environments. This joined-up approach enables children to feel secure, reduces anxiety and supports long-term outcomes in independence and overall wellbeing.

Discuss Out of Hours Support

Whether you need regular evening assistance, weekend activities, or holiday provision, we work with families and local authorities to create a flexible, connected support plan.
