KTM Care Pathways

Children & Young People’s Services

Providing specialist autism, learning disability and support services across Essex. Through our Non-School Alternative Provision, Post-16 Programmes and Out-of-Hours Support, we deliver personalised pathways that build confidence, independence, communication and life skills, helping children and young people achieve positive outcomes and prepare for the future. By focusing on the whole child, we are supporting not only educational engagement but the essential skills needed for everyday life, positive relationships and future independence.

Our Services

Non-School Alternative Provision

Bespoke educational support and life skills development for children with Autism, complex learning disabilities and additional needs who require a supportive, structured environment outside of mainstream or specialist school settings.

Our provision combines personalised learning, communication support, community-based experiences and life skills development to help children build confidence, engagement, independence and emotional wellbeing. Using predictable routines, strong relationships and a low-arousal approach, we create safe and meaningful opportunities for children to learn, develop social communication skills and experience success at their own pace.

Post-16 Programmes

Our Post-16 programmes place preparation for adulthood at the heart of everything we do. We create a tailored pathway to each young person to develop independence, confidence, communication skills and community readiness through personalised, practical learning experiences.

By focusing on life skills, social development, wellbeing and real world opportunities, we help young people build the skills they need to thrive in adulthood and achieve their future goals.

Out of Hours Support

Needs don’t end at 5 PM. Our out-of-hours support provides essential flexibility and relief for families, offering structured evenings, weekends and holiday activities tailored to each child’s needs.

Whether it’s short breaks, community outings, or home-based assistance, our experienced team ensures continuity of care and meaningful engagement when standard services are closed.

A Relationship-Based Approach

We recognise that every child is unique, with their own strengths, interests, communication style and support needs. Our experienced team builds positive, trusting relationships that help children feel safe, understood and ready to engage. Working closely with families, schools and professionals, we provide consistent, child-centred support that promotes wellbeing, communication, confidence and independence.

Individualised Support:
Personalised around each child’s strengths, needs and outcomes.
Communication First:
Adapting our approach to understand and respond to every child’s communication style.
Relationship Based Practice:
Consistent staff who build trust, connection and a sense of belonging.
Positive Behaviour Support:
Understanding behaviour as communication and responding with empathy, curiosity and support.

Discuss Out of Hours Support
